1. Optimize processing technology




The optimization of die casting mold processing technology has a significant impact on the service life of die casting molds.




Specifically reflected in the following aspects:




① During the processing of die-casting molds, grinding generates a large amount of heat. Therefore, a fully cooled and self sharpening grinding wheel should be selected for precision grinding of the die-casting mold to avoid surface cracking of the mold cavity caused by the processing. In addition, H13 steel hard milling measures can be used instead of grinding to reduce production costs.




② Shot peening treatment on the surface of die-casting molds can effectively eliminate residual stress generated by machining, alleviate mold thermal fatigue, and prevent the generation of cracks.




③ During the cutting process of mold materials, rough machining is carried out using medium pulse width and high peak current, followed by fine machining using small pulse width. This can effectively reduce the pulse energy generated during the cutting process and avoid the occurrence of surface cracks in die-casting molds.




2. Heat treatment process




Reasonable and standardized heat treatment processes can effectively improve the service life of die-casting molds. Die casting molds need to undergo stress relief treatment before use, followed by quenching after the first stress relief annealing. Subsequent processing can eliminate deformation and cracks caused by quenching.




The temperature for stress relieving tempering of die casting molds should be reduced by 30-50 ℃ on the basis of the original tempering temperature. The first stress relieving tempering can be carried out after using the mold for 5000 to 10000 cycles, and the interval between each stress relieving tempering is 15000 to 20000 cycles.




When processing the core of the die-casting die, the hot oil first contacts the core surface, which is conducive to improving the toughness and hardness of the core. The die-casting die cavity repeatedly turns over in the hot oil, which can improve and achieve the convection heat transfer effect. The surface of the die-casting die cavity is treated with nitriding or carbonitriding, which can effectively avoid Erosion.
